Terms of service
1. Who we are and scope
These Terms & Conditions apply to services supplied by Glossed Auto Detailing (“Glossed”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and bookings made through our website, Appointo or another booking tool, social media, telephone, WhatsApp, email or another channel we approve. “Customer” means the person requesting or paying for the service. By placing a booking or authorising work, you acknowledge that these terms have been made available to you. Any mandatory rights under South African law remain unaffected.
2. Quotes, bookings and confirmation
A quote is based on the information supplied and the vehicle condition reasonably apparent at the time. Unless a quote says otherwise, it is an estimate subject to inspection. A booking is confirmed only when Glossed accepts it and any stated deposit or required payment has been received. Please provide accurate contact details, vehicle details and service selections. We may need to reschedule or decline work if the vehicle, weather, premises, safety conditions or other circumstances make the service unsuitable.
3. Vehicle inspection and existing condition
Before work begins, we may inspect and photograph the vehicle to record its condition and the work authorised. Customers should point out known defects, previous repairs or resprays, aftermarket parts, electrical faults, leaks, loose trim and other relevant issues. Pre-existing damage is not caused by Glossed merely because it is discovered or becomes more visible during a service. However, nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for loss or damage caused by Glossed’s failure to exercise legally required care.
4. Detailing and paint correction results
Detailing, polishing and paint correction are improvement services; they do not guarantee a factory-new finish. Results depend on paint thickness and condition, previous repairs, contamination, interior materials, age, wear and other factors. Deep scratches, stone chips, etching, clear-coat failure and other defects may remain where further work would be unsafe, ineffective or unreasonable. Glossed may stop or modify work if continuing risks damage. We will seek approval before carrying out material additional work or charging an additional amount, where reasonably practicable.
5. Ceramic coatings and expected durability
Where offered, coating options may include Nasiol XR03 (approximately 18 months), Nasiol ZR53 (approximately 3 years) and Nasiol NL272 (approximately 5 years). These are expected durability periods under suitable application, use and maintenance conditions, not unconditional promises that the coating will perform identically for the entire period. Actual performance varies with mileage, storage, climate, washing technique, chemicals, contamination and maintenance. A coating does not make paint scratch-proof, stone-chip-proof or maintenance-free.
6. Prices, deposits and payment
Prices are quoted in South African rand (ZAR) unless stated otherwise. A deposit may be required to reserve a date; the amount and due date should be stated in the quote or booking confirmation. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the balance is payable on completion and before the vehicle is released. We will explain any additional charge and seek approval before proceeding where reasonably practicable. Payment processing may be handled by a third-party provider under its own terms.
7. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds
Our Refund & Cancellation Policy forms part of these terms and is published separately. Any deposit retained or cancellation charge must be reasonable in the circumstances and permitted by law. Nothing in our policy removes a cancellation right or remedy that applies under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.
8. Customer responsibilities and vehicle handover
Please arrive at the agreed time, disclose relevant vehicle issues, remove valuables and personal items, and provide any keys, access or instructions reasonably needed for the service. Please check the vehicle at collection and raise any immediate concern with us. This does not remove rights that arise later or any rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
9. Customer property and personal items
Customers should remove cash, valuables, fragile items and personal documents before handing over a vehicle. We will take reasonable care of the vehicle and property entrusted to us. Nothing in these terms excludes liability where the law does not allow it or where loss is caused by our failure to exercise legally required care.
10. Photography, marketing and privacy
We may take photographs for condition records, quality control and documentation. Using identifiable images for marketing is a separate purpose: where a vehicle, registration plate, person or other detail can identify someone, we will seek appropriate permission or take reasonable steps to obscure identifying details. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
11. Complaints and workmanship concerns
Please contact us promptly if you believe there is a problem with the service. Where appropriate, allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle before the affected area is altered, polished, stripped or repaired by another provider. This request is intended to help assess the concern and does not remove any statutory remedy or urgent right available to you.
12. Third-party products and manufacturer warranties
Any manufacturer warranty for a coating or other product is governed by that manufacturer’s terms and requirements. A manufacturer warranty is separate from any workmanship commitment made by Glossed. We will explain any applicable warranty information supplied to us.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version provided or linked when you book will generally apply to that booking, subject to any later change agreed with you and applicable law. We will not use a policy update to remove a right that has already accrued.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes remain subject to any applicable statutory rights, forums and procedures. Contact: bookings@glossed.co.za | 079 253 5298 | glossed.co.za. Business contact details should be verified before publication.
